About Me
I am a Professional Pet Stylist that is a "Certified Advanced Professional Groomer" through International Pet Groomers Inc; Certified in CPR & First Aid, a "Master Grooming Behavior Specialist" through Whole Pet Grooming Academy in New Hampshire and specialized in Double Coated Breeds.
I have always loved animals for as long as I can remember.
During my senior year of high school I took a class that allowed you to work half the day and go to school the other half. During this time I worked as a bather at a local grooming salon. I had always stressed out about what I was going to do with my future, and little did I know at the time that I had fallen right into it.
After graduating from high school I continued to work as a bather until I decided to do their apprenticeship program to learn how to groom. I completed my apprenticeship in April of 2007. I continued to work at that salon until February of 2010 when I decided I wanted to try something new and work at a vet clinic as a groomer. This was such an amazing opportunity as I was able to learn even more about pets.
While the vet clinic is amazing; there was just something missing, something else I wanted to be able to provide pets that just couldn't be done in a vet clinic surrounding. That is when I decided to open my own business out of my home in February of 2019, this way I could provide undivided attention to each pet.
My Animals
My Four Furry Children!
Strider
is my handsome black cat, he is the oddest of them all. He is more like a dog stuck in a cats body. He has also taught me a lot in regards to cat body language and tolerance.Lillie
is my oldest girl; she is a Bichon Frise Mix that was born in 2006. She has taught me so much during my career, her having the curly white hair and all. She let me practice plenty of products, styles and even some color!Discord
is the youngest in the household. He is an American Brittany that was born in 2016 right here in the Peoria area! Originally for hunting, Brittany's are just such lovable dogs overall and was my first dog I raised since a puppy!Nihlus
is the orange and white kitty that loves to snuggle. He is technically the husbands cat but I think he loves us both equally. What We Offer

Speciality Services
One of the specialty services I provide is Handstripping. Handstripping can be time-consuming but is a very rewarding technique used on most terrier breeds to keep their coats course and their color vibrant.
I do what I call “Pet” stripping which is a using a combination of tools along with some finger stripping as it is much easier to maintain, still helps to keep the hair course and skin healthy but is much less time-consuming for me and your pup. Services include
- Ear Cleaning and light ear plucking (if needed)
- Nail trim
- Pet stripping before bath and after
- Specialty shampoo meant for coarse coats
- Sanitary trim and shaving out footpads
- Scissor trimming on feet and featherings and/or head
- Cologne/Perfume and an accessory
Nail Trims
If all your pet needs is a Mani-Pedi, I can take care of just that. Dremeling/Filing of the nails is also available if your pet will tolerate it.
This service is available for any pet regardless on if they are a current grooming client.
Teeth Brushing/Freshening Treatment
Your pet will get their teeth brushed with an enzymatic toothpaste meant for pets and a spritz of breath freshening treatment.
*Please note that if teeth brushing is not done at home in between appointments, this will only help for a day a two.

Why Choose Mythical Pet Styling
I trust Lori completely with my older Labrador. I know she is gentle and caring with all of her "clients" but especially with those that are "seniors", like Karli. Never once have I been unhappy with the end result when I pick Karli up from her appointment! Thank you Lori for your great work over the past several years! We will be seeing you soon!
Lori knows what she is doing!!! Listens to your grooming concerns and takes care of your pet like it was her own. Knows how to groom your pet according to breed or how you like. Highly recommend!!!
I have been taking my dogs to Lori for over 10 years. She always does such a great job grooming my dogs and most of all I trust her and my dogs love her!!!
I recommend Lori for many reasons, she knows what she is doing, she got a lot of experience, you get the cut you want for your furry baby and she does it at a quiet place, one on one. She loves my Hannah and handles her just like her own. Plus I love the weekend appointments I can get, I don't know what I would do without her services.
Love how much care was put into our babies’ grooming. We took three of our Persians yesterday and they each got lion cuts. One of our kitties was quite matted because we had been unable to get him groomed due to the pandemic. Anyway, highly recommend Mythical Pet Styling. They will take great care of your furries!
Lori is awesome and takes great care of her clients! She’s excellent for working fur baby moms/dads because she offers evening and weekend hours and is extremely flexible! Very very happy we found her!
We finally found a groomer that did a wonderful cut on our pooch!!! Very responsibly priced, very professional, and was finished in a very timely manner! We will stick with groomer! Thank you so much Lori!
FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my dog get groomed?
How often your pet needs groomed really depends on their coat and your maintenance at home but most pets benefit from grooming every 4-8 weeks. Even pets that don't require a haircut can benefit from a deep cleaning and conditioning.
Do you just do nail trims?
YES! There are many times that pets' don't need their hair trimmed but their nails tend to get long, so if that is all you need done; I can do just that.
How long will it take my pet to be groomed?
- Smaller breed that require a haircut typically take about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cats generally take about 20-30 minutes depending on temperament and what they will allow me to do.
- Larger breeds can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on what the pet is getting done.
Can I over-bathe my pet?
Just like us, your pets skin can dry out if bathed to often. Bathing your pets in luke-warm water and making sure you are using Shampoo & Conditioner meant for your pets there should be little concern.
